About Us

What is yoga?

Yoga is a Sanskrit word for “union.”  It is the language of ancient India where yoga originated over five thousand years ago. Through practice, one develops a deeper awareness of the body, mind and spirit.  The word Yoga is commonly described by the Sanskrit word asana, which refers to the practice of physical postures.

With regular practice of yoga postures (asanas) and breathing techniques (pranayama), it increases your    stamina, strength and improves your flexibility.  It has a profound effect on the endocrine, nervous and circulatory systems, and improves the physical, mental, spiritual and organic systems of the human body.  Many common physical ailments can also be improved through the regular practice of yoga.
