Owner/Instructor
A yoga practitioner since 1998, Kim began teaching in 1999 while studying in the Viniyoga tradition. In 2002 she began her studies in the B.K.S. Iyengar tradition where she discovered her true passion. Now, as the owner of iYoga, Inc., she is able to pursue her goal: to teach and inspire students in a way that will enhance their lives and provide a foundation for better
health.
In 2004 she completed a yearlong Teacher Training Course with Sara Azarius Eichmiller of Yoga on Centre, a Yoga studio in Pittsburgh. Kim’s training also includes extensive study under Bekir Algan of Austin Yoga in Austin, Texas who is the premier proponent of AYUR-YOGA, Yoga Therapy and practice based on Ayurveda (The science of life). It is through this network that she was introduced to Yoga Therapy in the Iyengar tradition, a concept Kim feels benefits all students and has improved her personal yoga practice as well.
Kim continues to study under Senior Iyengar teachers including Dean Lerner, Lois Steinberg, Manouso Manos and Rebecca Lerner. She has also taken workshops with Laurie Blakeney, Gary Kraftsow and Judith Hanson Lasater.
Previously taught at these Pittsburgh area studios:
• The Yoga Studio of Robinson with the owner, Alexandria Goisse
• the Rivers Club
• Yoga on Centre
• Salutations Yoga Center
